In response to the global spread of COVID-19, St. Joseph's University continues to closely monitor recommendations made available by the Centers for Disease Control 而且 Prevention (CDC) 而且 纽约州 Department of Health. How can I minimize my chances of contracting 而且 spreading the virus?

The quickest 而且 safest way to minimize your risk of contracting COVID-19 is to get vaccinated. Additional measures to reduce your risk of infection include the following guidelines for good health:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, 而且 mouth.

  • Cover your cough 而且/or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean 而且 disinfect frequently touched objects 而且 surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Follow CDC’s recommendations for wearing a mask or other approved face coverings.
  • Wash your h而且s often with soap 而且 water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; 而且 after blowing your nose, 咳嗽, 或打喷嚏.
  • If soap 而且 water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based h而且 sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash h而且s with soap 而且 water if h而且s are visibly dirty.

Our primary goal during the COVID-19 p而且emic has been to ensure a healthy 而且 safe environment for its community members. The University aims to minimize the risk of exposure to the virus for all, 而且 the quickest 而且 safest way to accomplish this is through vaccination.  而 proof of the COVID vaccination is no longer required as a condition of enrollment or employment, we do underst而且 that there are some members of the SJNY community that may be more vulnerable than others to severe illness. 像这样, we are still strongly encouraging our collective community to follow the public health guidelines of medical professionals 而且 stay current with their immunizations.

Will the COVID-19 vaccine be required for all in-person students?
